Goin' Easy

So things are better for me now. Much better than last post. I am looking forward to the coming days and weeks, being school and then not. I trimmed my unruly (but second place for most beautiful) beard within the first five minutes of December and I kinda like the look. I am going to roll with it for a bit and see what it looks like in a couple weeks. But, yeah, life is generally good and the beard is definitely good.

coming home

Today I am heading back to the desert for the first time since I left. It will be interesting to see how everything there has changed and how I have changed in comparison to everyone I know in the desert. I get to see my mom and my sister for the first time I left and of course my dad, even though I saw him last week.

Mainly I am excited about seeing Michael Webb. I having been praying and praying for his recovery and I just hope to God that he answered my prayers.

Everything else is just a bonus. I get to see Chandler and Cody for sure, but maybe even more people, depending if our paths cross or not.

Birthday Synopsis

This weekend I celebrated my 19th birthday, for the first time away from home. Luckily, a big part of home came to me: my dad. He is off for November, so he decided to come up and see me on my birthday. He also came up because he has never been to NAU before.

Friday I gave my dad the campus tour (a tour that ends all other tours). Along with that, it was a good time to catch up with my old man. I then took my dad to one of my favorite restaurants in Flag, Buffalo Wild Wings. All very good for catching up, again. Moving to the more practical, we went to Walmart to get some stuff. Now I have plenty on fluids (Dr. Pepper, Mt. Dew, and Red Bull) to last me until Thanksgiving. We also went to Barnes and Noble and I got two (sweet!) Bicycling magazines (Nov and Dec). I tired him out over the course of the day, so I said goodnight (day) to him around 6 pm.

For no apparent reason and almost instantaneously, James and I declared movie night and we took over the movie room to watch "Pitch Black," which was awesome because it is sci-fi and Vin Diesel. Following the movie, we traveled to the carnival night where various games and food items were offered at no cost. My friend, Olivia, won an iPod nano. Pretty sweet. That night lasted until 4:45 am (my birthday).

The next morning (my birthday) I woke up around 7:45 because of my roommate getting up early to do some band stuff. On little sleep I started my birthday day. I treated (subjected) my dad to the doob food and then we wandered around Flagstaff with little direction. Flagstaff is conducive to that sort of thing.

We got ready for my dad heading back home around 6, me giving him stuff that I wanted to go back to Palm Desert. We said our goodbyes and he dropped Olivia and I at Oreganos, where my birthday dinner was going down.

Nick and Denver got a good group of IV people and we had a great time. I left my number for the waitress as the "B-day boy." I haven't gotten a call, yet.

We headed back to Denver's apartment were we watched "Transformers" and ate ice cream cake.

Winding down, I watched "The Cronicles of Riddick" with Tyler and Jake before dropping into bed. I slept until what Chelsea claims to be around noon. It could be true. I did very little on Sunday, except talk to Eric. I love Eric. I also talked to Sasha for the first time since what may be when I went to college. Always a good thing.

I am writing this post as I chat with Chandler and think about the upcoming week. I've got little to do and I am thinking about my upcoming journey back home this Friday. I am excited about seeing Michael Webb and Chandler, among others, but especially those two. Time is flying by and I am just trying to pick up the pieces.
